"Justyna Zmurko: Simply put, autism is?
Margaret Guzowski : It is a syndrome where the processing of the brain is different than for a typical person. Their cognitive functions are different than a typical person’s. Social skills are often impaired in autistic individuals. They don’t experience the same input from the outside world. People on the Autism Spectrum may have very acute experiences of external stimuli. For example, they may be very sensitive to sound and to touch. They see the world differently than you and I. As a result, they often engage in stereotypical repetitive behaviours."

Therapeutic Arts Program is offering several programs this fall. Including Saturdays programs in Port Credit, Fridays TAP afternoons, and evenings in Brampton. The co-ed Teen Group and Boys Group are starting this October. We are also developing an afterschool program and we would be so happy to get your feedback the program can be offered also in two locations Mississauga and Brampton. We are offering another workshop on expanding ideas and nutrition for our children offered by Gabriella Sainai. Please share it with any parents who could be interested,
Here is the information:
How food textures influence our children's choices?
Does your child only want to eat certain textures of food? Whether it's crunchy, chewy or creamy there is a healthy alternative to everything. Join us for a cooking workshop and learn nutritious recipes that you can prepare together with your child.
The workshop includes food preparation and tasting.
Date: March 09, 2013 from 2:30-4:00 PM at Kids Can Centre.
